Hello Everyone and a Happy New Year to you all. I hope we can share many more. The new single is still sitting there proudly on ITunes front page and If you click on the photo across It will take you directly to It enabling you to download It and hopefully contributing to a Euro hit for me. I also wanted to point out that I'm going to start a little BLOG from this evening. I want to share more things with all of you and also for you to share more things with me. We can talk about anything on It, Daily News, Music, Art, Books anything. On the front page of this site there Is a new link taking you straight to the BLOG page so come on In and Join In with me. hello everyone
it is with a christmas spirit that i inform you all that my new single "if you don't give me love" has now been featured on the front page of itunes throughout europe. it is great exposure and will i'm sure land us a new army of fans. you can check this out and download the song from itunes but you must change the country at the bottom of the page to france, belguim, denmark or any of the euro countries and go to pop releases on the front page and there you will find it sitting pride of place. meantime thank you all very much for your support throughout 07 and i hope you will follow me into the new year with the release of my new album.

Hello everyone
It’s nice to be writing to you all again and sorry for the delays in what's going on but it's been pretty busy with travelling and settling to life back in jersey after the fantastic time I had in Scotland recording the album. The album is due for release in mid February as I said in my previous diary entry. We’re going to have a launch in Paris with a show there and I’m also thinking about a show and launch in jersey too? Until then I’ve had a few thoughts on what I may do for Christmas and New Year. After such a great time in Skye last year which we couldn't organise for this year because of my album commitments I thought i may have a rest and do it next year again but maybe at a different location? Whilst back home in Scotland some friends who are involved with this little hotel in East Kilbride had other ideas and asked if I’d be interested in doing a small up close and personal gig for hogmanay at their place (the Torrance hotel) I went over and had a look it's a very small room but it could be another magic night, so I’ve said yes and it's all go. Tickets are very limited which you can buy and book direct from the hotel. Maybe you may even want to stay over? It’s a simple hotel and therefore not too expensive. You can contact them at the details below.
I also would like you folks to write to me at info@jjgilmour.com if you are having problems with our message board so we can have it looked it, it seems very quiet over the past couple of months? I’ll keep you posted as we go along with more details about the gig and the album launch, which should be a cracking night in Paris.

hey friends
i'm pleased to tell you that the album is finished and sounds great. sandy and graeme did a fantastic job in what is a totally sorted studio and the guys are right at home in it. the albums gone off now to the record company to be printed and made ready for the stores. it does look though like we'll wait till february 08 to bring it out. we don't want to get caught up in all the christmas rush where it won't get a chance among all the other records that always come out every year at the same time. like the single it'll be available on itunes and ill be sure to keep you posted when that goes up. nonsoloblues and universal records for now will only release the album in certain countries in europe, we need a label in the other ones before we can release it in the other countries that unfortunately means the u.k too. i'm off back to jersey on saturday to discuss what we will plan for our release and to decide where and when we will shoot the video for the single. till then my friends stay safe and i'll keep you posted.

hi everyone
work is well underway now on the new album and i really just wanted to update you all on our progress. it's fair to say that we'll have one or two surprises on this record/cd/mp3, it's coming along nicely and the nerves are fading as the tracks become more and more like wee records. sandy, graeme and myself (well mostly those two guys) have been working full on and it's really sounding great. i also want to thank all of you chaps who came to the st andrews show, a total sell out and a great evening. i can't wait to get this new collection of tunes to you all and look forward to stretching our fan base out to these new countries this record will be released in. i'll have some pictures and some more stories of the studio as we near the end of the recording session over the next three weeks. till then take it easy.

people often contact us about bringing their kids along to see jj's shows. though mostly in the past this hasn't been possible we've been informed that jj's gig in st andrews in the square has no age restrictions provided kids are accompanied by an adult. so here's you chance to bring the young ones along to check out their favourite artist jj gilmour. there is a reduced entree fee it's £9 for kids.

hi everyone
i'm pleased to tell that radio stations in france are picking up on my new single "if you don't give me love" it's a nice feeling and one that i hope can continue throughout this new album. i am hoping soon to be performing live in some of these stations. i'll keep you all posted. meantime all is well here in france, i guess by now you all know that i've confirmed a gig in glasgow, i'm really looking forward to seeing you all again. hopefully i'll get some copies of the single to sell at the gig? till then my friends i'll keep at it over here. i hope the weather is better there than it is here.

tickets for jj's gig at st andrews in the square on saturday 22nd september are now available to buy by calling 0870 013 2652 or at the following website http://www.secxtra.com. you can also pick them up from The SECxtra box office at St Enoch Centre, Glasgow which is open from Mondays to Saturdays 10am - 6pm and Sundays 12noon - 5pm. this will save a postal charge which is charged both from buying online or by telephone.

i have just confirmed a gig today in the fine city of glasgow it'll take place next month saturday the 22nd of september in st andrews in the square. put that date in your diary as i think it will be my only scottish date this year. i'll post ticket details in the next couple of days. i'm very excited about this as i haven't played all year and loved the last time i played this fantastic venue. i hope to be joined on stage with phil kane (piano), graeme duffin (guitar) and ali gordon (violin)

well my friends
those peices of paper myself and that italian man are holding in the picture to the left are the contracts which have now been signed in paris friday last. the single and album will be released on adn/universal records france and also in italy and belguim on adn/bmg records with the later two countries still to be officially confirmed. the single "if you don't give me love" will be released to radio in france in 2 weeks time. hooray was the cry on friday night and then saturday morning in my parisien hotel was spent nursing a wee sore head after my celebrations.
i hope to have more news about where you can hear the tune and catch me live in one of the radio stations in france very soon. till then my dear friends take care and i look forward to updating you again soon

hello my dear friends.
well i expected a delay here in france of the single release and i'm sorry to say i was right. this time however i think it's for the right reasons. my bosses at the record company say that the previous delays have caused us to stop the release date till august. it isn't a good time to release here in france as it's now officially french holiday time, which always descends on the month of july.
i know it's for the best but i'm so keen to get out there into the lions den and have a pop.
i've come back to jersey now for a few days and will head back to france hopefully thursday or friday to take up the reigns again. it's a strange time and one that you must be patient with. my good friend mark has offered to fly me to paris to sign off the deal in his spanking new plane, now how’s that for style. he took me across to cherbourg yesterday and where i took these pictures on the left of one the glorious tiny little reef islands called the ecrehouse 10km from jersey. there are about a dozen houses on it which are only occupied on a holiday basis by private owners. i must say that from so close 500ft above in a small plane these islands really are stunning.
if paris goes ahead this week then afterwards i'm planning on headin to the festival vieille charrue in brittany on friday night to catch one of the main men bryan ferry and one canada's recent great finds "arcade fire" who are playing there. i don't think they'll have glastonbury weather? well at least i hope not. anyhoo i'll report back to you all next week on my return. till then enjoy the sunshine, rain, snow? whatever is going on with the weather at the moment is baffling isn't it.

hello my dear friends
another month is here with us and it looks like this month is to be the one for the release of my new single "if you don't give me love" the record company are keen to have it out there to radio land by the end of this week but i think there may be a delay in there? anyhoo it'll soon be blowing down the airwaves in france then to be followed by belguim and italy. still as yet there is no release planned for the uk, we need to find an interested label. i am hoping to have a snippet of the finished article for you all to listen too on this site soon. this thankfully also means we will be in the studio shortly to finish off my second solo album which has a working title "the boy who didn't fall" i'm so impatient now as i want to get in there and get it done. i'm recording this album in scotland with graeme duffin (guitarist from wet wet wet) and his partner sandy jones. so folks watch this space soon for news on how the radio's are reacting to the single. my panic buttons at the ready

hi all
doesn't everyone who has success in music except simon cowell think that "capitalism is boring". anyhoo i saw this on a wall in glasgow’s southside wcich is a real posh neighbourhod, i thought it was great. it's all quite fitting for this little news entry. as we are just weeks away finally from our record release in a few countries in europe i'm now putting my words and music in the hands of the record company's and hope they can serve us well. it's something i've been working so hard for over the past few years, now that it's within sight i'm getting nervous. i will of course keep you all posted and especially for those of you who would like to try to find a copy. as most of you know the songs called "if you don't give me love" and i just today received the new remix for the radio, it's sounding good. i know you all have been very patient and i am certainly getting good at the patience thing too, hopefully not for much longer. bare with me my dear chums but keep your clothes on.

hi folks
well we're finally back but we had to visit the old site as we had mass confusion in cyberland. i'm a bit in the dumps with all this confusaon but bear with us and we'll try to get all our old stuff back bit by bit i hope. i'll be spending all day on the site to get closer to where we once had it before the visit to the dumpster. thanks to stuart green who's been working on it with me over the last weeks and who actually built this whole thing.
